'56 420w hydraulics

I thought the book called for 10W to start with. When I had mine i never operated it sub zero but in my opinion the 10 W should be thin enough.

me I would not do it. I used diesel once to do a flush like the book said and I had leaks like niagra falls on the rock shaft.

The M manual says to only put Kerosene in the TOM system to clean it. I would agree that the 10 wt. should be fine. I plow with my MT in the winter and have 10 wt in there and have not had any issues with operation. I am in MA and have plowed with it at 10 degrees before any windchill. Looks like I might get to this weekend!

the reason I want to thin it is that it takes forever to warm the oil up enough to stop the pump from labouring and I have been using it in temp down to minus 20f Thanks for all the input

I would not recommend this as I have learned the hard way that putting kerosine or deisel knocks a lot of gunk loose and will plug up the small orifices in the touchomatic leaving you with nothing but leaks everywhere and no lift....As I have heard before and now a believer don't mess with it if it ain't broke.
