coolant getting into cylinder why

JD model B overhauled engine 6 months ago ,the following work was done,cylinders checked for crack . ok rebore cylinders .090 new pistons ,rings, cylinder head checked for cracks ok ,resurface, new guides valves and seats .new piston pin bushing fitted., oil pump overhauled new radiator core ,carb and mag overhauled, engine assembled and ran for 2 hours and put in storage.6 month later tried to start engine stuck checked and removed head, .anti freeze in both cylinder and in crankcase .coolant was found in cylinders above the rings only, any ideas Thanks
 
Push rod tubes not mentioned. Were they replaced or checked? Too long a stud for manifold could poke a hole in the tube. Maybe a bad head gasket?

Both cyls, was it re torqued and or was it torqued in proper sequence?? Both cyls, i would say nothing but HEAD - CYL connection area problem. Only one cyl would be different indication.
 
You stated that the head sealing surface was resurfaced but did not say that the block sealing surface was resurfaced. If water had been used in the cooling system, scale from water solidifies and grows. The two most vulnerable spots are between the spark plug holes and the head. As the scale grows, it pushes the head away from the block which causes the gasket to lose its seal.
 
Yes, pushrod tubes only leak into crankcase. Head was resurfaced, but not the block...there's your problem right there.
 
block has crack or head gasket put on backwards, or no lead washers under head bolts,you missed something gonna have to tear it down to really find out did a real mechanic do this or are you trying to do this???? cost money to go to college, my first one took me 6 times finally paid attention ,7th time got it right and I bought all new head gaskets sets each time finnally paid attention to what I was doing . good luck
