If your yoke is similar to the one in parts schematic I would GUESS one needs to remove spring(parts key#2) to get pin to release.

Tx Jim,
Thank you for taking the time to include the parts drawing, truly appreciated.

The pin your drawing shows is the one I removed.
As this pin only went approximately 2/3's of the diameter of the shaft I am wondering if it does have balls in it that keep the PTO on the tractor shaft, as suggest by "Bob". I will investigate the further and let everyone one know if there are balls inside the coupling. Thanks,

I've never seen the type you have but normally if your yoke had balls they would be shown in photo I posted. I suggest to disconnect the mower and pull tractor away far enough so telescoping shafts slide apart to eliminate binding of shafts.
