3010 transmission

I've got a 3010 diesel that was overhauled 2500 hrs. ago.

The transmission shifting range has been changed to a 3020 or similar allowing only 2 reverses. How would I be able to tell if it has the 3rd reverse?

Thanks!!!

If I understand correctly, how the syncro-range transmission was designed, they ALL had the 3rd rev--and for that matter, 4th. I think the only real change was the elimination of the third notch in the shifter quadrant. If you want a REALLY "hairy" (& scary) reverse, figure out a way to access the 4th rev--should give you something like 15 mph!!!!!!-- (John Deere designed the quadrant specifically to prevent this.)

Yes jd40an your correct there is a 3rd reverse, some one has put a 3020 shift quadrant in the dash, I have cut them to let the 3rd reverse be used in 4020"s, it"s kinda nice when your moving round bales..
