any tips on how to change water pump on my 1954 john deere 70 ?

Drain the water, unhook the hoses and take the old one out and install new one, replace the hoses refill with water and anti-freeze and you vill be set to go.
You can do it standing up.

if you put in a newly rebuilt pump, they will continue to dribble a little. You have to let them run an hour or two then the seals seat up and your ready to go. I normally put something in front of the radiator to help it warm up faster when i change one.
