JD 420 wiring

The old 420 died a week and a half after I bought it. I've been running thru everything I can to figure out what's wrong. Somewhere along the way I messed up and can't remember which wire from the distributor goes to which plug and which wire from the coil goes to the distributor.

Anyone have some advice or a wiring diagram?

I don't , BUT, there aren't too many wires. Check the 'Archives' or get a manual. HTH

On my 420, the front tower goes to the front plug, and the wire from the dist. goes to the + post on the coil.

After a long frustrating day I ordered all four manuals available from the John Deere publications site. And have ordered a full tune up kit from YT to eliminate the possibilities of plugs, points, condenser, and wires.

The photo below shows the distributor wires and the wire from the coil.
