43 B axle bearing removal

The bearing on the axle we have out looks pretty good so I'm going to leave it alone.

But I'm curious - how would I get if off if I had to?

Does it pull towards the outside end of the axle?

I'm wondering what sets the depth when installing a new one? is there a step in the axle that it pushes up against?

Just curious.

There is no seal on the outer...this is a dust ring....yes the inner race buts up against a machined offset. The spacing is adjusted by the bull gear nut and then pinned with a large cotter key...the seal is in the axle housing and there is a larger metal washer for alignment...

Owatonna tools sells a puller that will get that bearing out. Or, they did as of a couple of years ago.
