Will JD 290 corn planter plant more than field corn ??

Hi does anyone have the beet plates for the JD 290
Or can you tell me where to purchase them.
In the book it looks like H 1085B

Tilly, I'm not sure what the place is called that will make any JD planter plate and will make any plate for that matters. Use Google. Maybe something like JD planter plates or JD 290 planter plates. Others will know more.

The 290 uses the same plates that all Deere plate planters have used since the 50's and types to plant a wide range of crops were, and mostly still are, available. eBay always has lots of them. However, if you are referring to sugar beet plates be aware that these require a special hopper bottom, filler plate, and seed tube. Your parts catalog should show the various setups for different crops. Lincoln Ag Products has corn, soybean, and sugar beet plates for sale on their website.
