WILL SCHWARTZ WIDE FRONT FOR THE 60, 70, 620,720 ETC WORKON A 1949 MODEL A WITH SPLIT PEDESTAL? I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM ANYBODY WHO HAS DONE THIS. THANKS.

Why would you want to do that? A cheap wide front would likely lower the value of your tractor.

It can be done... but it's not a direct bolt. I have a Speeco wide front on a 48 A that Dad put on in the early 70's. They incorporated the front cultivator quick tach bracket into the front end mount by welding a couple pieces of angle iron vertically on the mount so that they bolted up behind the cultivator mount bracket. We have used this tractor for years this way... several years with a loader on it... and never had any trouble other than it steered hard as heck!!! I don't have any pics handy of it and its currently setting on my brothers yard in Minnesota... but if you would like to see the setup, I can see if I can get him to send me some pics of it.

switched a Schwartz between a 630 and a 51 A with no mods at all. I don't know what model Schwartz it was, if there were different models, but after a few years I wished I'd never seen it. One thing going for it was it turned short. The 630 now has a factory square wide front and the A has it's original narrow front. The Schwartz is long gone. Jim
