Getting ready to pull the feeder house to change the lower auger pan. I've been through the drill as far as removing the feeder house but just wondering if anybody had any tips on R & R of the auger pan? Anything to make life easier.

No experience in replacing the pan but you may be able to cover the worn one with a plastic kit.
I just bought a plastic floor kit for my bean head and saw they make all the auger pans etc for all combines.
Tell you how it works in a couple weeks.
Got it from Polytech at polyskid.com.
Just might be easier than r & r the pan.

The back end of the old one is breaking through in spots. Grain is
getting down into the cleaning fan housing.

Im just about to start the same job on my 7720.Its doing the same as yours. I didnt realize the feeder house had to come off. Im also going to checkout that poly kit, might be the way to go. Its a little over a grand for a new trough from deere.

i looked at the poly kit and it looks like the pan would have to come out to put it in anyway so if i have to take it out im just gonna put a new one in.

Neighbor had to replace the pan in his 7720 and when he found out the price of new parts he bought a sheet of 16 gauge steel and cut it into 4ft wide strips and we bent them on my bending brake, only cost him about $80 to fix

i like that idea I could probably get the local machine shop to do that and with heavier steel so I could do a good job welding the ends on.
