Quick engine freshening?

I have a G and I want to raise the compression to get some more power out of it. It still has the original all fuel pistons and has a little over 60 psi per cylinder (factory spec calls for 65psi). The compression isn't far off of factory specs and I gave it a look with a bore scope and I didn't see any pits, so do you think I could get away with a quick hone job and slapping in a new set of standard bore pistons or should I order the next size up and bore it a little?

You didn't say what year G that you have. Assuming 1942
through 1953; if it were my "G" with compression like that, I
would re-ring it and install the cylinder head from a late un
styled "G", above s/n 7100 July 1938 up to s/n 12192, Dec. 1941. That
will significantly raise compression and power.

If you are interested in a "flat head" as was mentioned I have one that I would sell. New valve guides, and a fresh grind on the valves. They will need lapped has set for some time. I am in NW Iowa, e-mail me if interested. Dale

Thanks for the offer. I don't know what you're asking for it but I'm pretty sure that I can't afford a cylinder head.
