we have a 50 that we rebuilt from the ground up about 3 years ago. lately weve been having problems starting it. when you shut it off and open the pitcocks about a soda cap worth of oil comes out and if it sits for more than a day we usually have to pull it to start it. it just seams like its always loaded up or just dosent have enough spark but you leave it sit for a day and it fires first time every time. anyone have any thoughts?

Does it smell like gas a lot? Almost sounds like you got a bad ring. Mine would spit a little out after sitting before we rebuilt it but not that much. Almost sounds like the starter can't handle a hot motor. Maybe have it checked. How heavy of a battery do you use? Same with the cables the heavier the better.
