55 plow has a lot of wobble in front wheels and rear guide wheel. are the bearings just shot or do spindles take the beating??

There are sleeves that take the wear which can be replaced also the end play can be adjusted by moving the pin to a different step on the thrust washer. The design pretty much eliminates wear on the axle.

These wheels use sleeve type bearings. Depending on if you have clutch lift or hydraulic lift the wheels will be the same or different.

They are adjusted by using shim washers on both side of the wheel sleeve. Unless they're broken, the wheel sleeves can usually be adjusted.
Keep in mind that an inch of side play at the outer wheel tread is acceptable for a used plow. Even when new, these sleeve type wheels weren't free from wobble or play like we are used to with precision type tapered roller bearings.

New wheel shims for the 55 plows aren't available, but I probably have some used ones. If you dissassemble your wheel and find broken parts, let me know as I have plenty spares for parts.
