70 fanshaft

Where is it stripped? The fanshaft, PS pump, water pump and generator all quit turning. I could spin the fan freely with my fingers. After disassembly, there was continuity from one end of the long shaft to the other, the fan bevel gear does not slip on the shaft, and I cannot turn the Governor bevel gear with my fingers. Do I have to get into the governor housing?

How is the coupler at the pump? Might be stripped out.

There are 2 couplers that can strip , usually the pump end but not always.
Check all splines for stripping .

Or your v belt pulley stripped or the P.S. pump shaft splines stripped ?

May or may not be of help here but the shorter shaft is from a 70 gas and is nice . I don't need it as I only bought it to get the couplers . Send an email if this is needed . $25 AT YOUR DOOR LOWER 48 .

Thanks. Shaft and connectors splines are all good.
I appreciate the response. Going to look closer at the governor assembly.

Thanks for the help. Coupler at pump end of fanshaft was stripped. It was so smooth it looked like it came from the factory like that!
