3010 Air Cleaner Maintenance

On the 3010 I am working on I did maintenance on the air cleaner assembly as shown above. I cleaned out the cup (#16) and put fresh oil in it. I must of had a half inch of gunk in the bottom.
I also removed and cleaned the intake assembly (#8) at the top of he air cleaner canister. It as really coated with oily dust. After running the tractor I noticed some oil up around that intake assembly. I know I put the oil to the correct level in the cup. Is there maintenance I need to do on the canister between the cup and the intake assembly? Since both were coated with oil dust/gunk I am wondering if the same is true for the inside of the canister.
Thanks. Paul

Thanks Jim, I will look in there when I get back to the tractor. It only stands to reason if both ends are muddy, the middle is muddy. I guess I will have to loosen all its connections and remove it so I can do a good cleaning. I was hoping I didn't have to do that. Thanks again. Paul

I took a similar mesh cleaner that I imagined was full of gunk to the car wash, putit on the floor and let her rip. I guess it did OK, no problems. I did worry later tht I mayhavejust blew all the crud farther back up inside the mesh.

I don"t think I got a LOT out, but it blew soap and water and suds all over, and in my eyes, and I couldn"t really notice. One thing I did notice, was after I did that, the mesh stareted to rust , and I"d recommend you oil it up pretty soon.
