I am still confused about your definition of single versus dual acting cylinders.

How may hoses attach to each lift cylinder?

Double acting has two hoses which this has . I haven't done anything for a valve yet don't have the hydraulics hooked up yet

The net change in fluid should be minimal if the cylinders are double acting. I do not understand your need for additional fluid.

I would definitely use a close center valve.

Thanks for all your replies and info I think what I
am going to do is maybe just run hoses to tractor
remotes then eventually I'll get a 3 spool cs valve
so that I can still have two remote hook ups on the
tractor. I just hope this loader will work OK on
this tractor

OK I was just kinda going off from how the loader worked on my other tractor it wouldn't raise to full height unless I had 15 gallon in the sump . This loader will raise high I can stack 4x4x8 bales 5 high one bale high 6 high two at a time

Man I don't understand how the loader can stack large sq bales FIVE HIGH. Back when I had a JD 158 loader on my 4255 I think it wouldn't raise hay that high. It appears the 158 stuck out further in front of the tractor than the Farmhand loader.

Tx Jim,
Look where the arm pivots are on that loader and compare that to most loaders. On that one the pivots are further back near the instrament panel and higher nearly at the operator's eye level when seated. Those arms may be 3 to 5 feet longer than a normal loader's arms and the pivots may be 3 feet higher.

I have seen high lift FarmHand loaders that use a PTO driven pump plus have there own reservoir tank.Regardless it would be a good idea to make something on the back of bale spear to protect you from a bale falling backwards.I have a good friend who was killed but He was doing two at a time and a fellow I know had a round bale get away and He is in a wheel chair so safety first.Adding extra oil[more than a few quarts] in JDs just makes extra heat which doesnt work.

Thanks for the reply I only lift one bale at a time I tried doing 2 and its just to heavy I'm not in that big of a hurry that and I don't have the right fork to do two at a time. I was loading 3x3x8 one time with my yanmar 1500d and I just had a fork that went on the bucket edge and a bale got away and pinned me to the seat luckily it was just straw and my friend was there and he grabbed the bale and flipped it off me.
