magneto timing 1948 B

Can someone give me a quick lesson in installing and timing a magneto on a B for dummies please? I"ve got an I&T manual and between that and searching this site I can"t get the tractor fired up. I"m confident that I can find TDC and that the mag is firing. Thanks in advance.

Install the magneto loosely, just enough so you can rotate it by hand. Rotate the magneto clockwise as far as it will go. Bring the left piston to TDC. Slowly rotate the magneto counter-clockwise until it trips or fires. Tighten the magneto in this position. This should be close enough to get it started.
