There is a hole in the bottom of my water pump

I noticed a small puddle of water under the 60 the other day,
took a closer look and there is a hole in the bottom of the
water pump. It looks to be casted that way. I am wondering if
there should be some sort of plug in the hole or what. Took a
look at jdparts.com but found nothing.

It's a relief hole.If the seal leaks the water comes out the hole instead of into the engine.

Ben,

That's a weep hole which is made purposely to alert the operator that the impeller seal has failed and will require a rebuild or replacement.

Don't try to rebuild a pump without a service manual if you're not familiar with them.

If the tractor has been sitting for a while you can start it and it may stop leaking on its own. My 630 did. I did have it rebuilt before I repainted it.
