I am helping a retired uncle sell off his farm machinery. We have his combine advertised for $3500.00, a diesel with 3400 hours, 23.1 x 26" drive tires are new, and includes a 6 belt pickup head. No interest at all. What tractors would this engine repower? Could we get more by parting out the engine, tires, and other parts? Located in North Dakota, Thanks!

About all it is worth anymore. Most of the small guys like me have the 20 series Deere's or 1400 series IH at a minimum. Very little demand for 00 series unfortunately as they were pretty good combines for the day. I saw a 915 IH sell for what the engine was worth at auction this spring.

Didnt they use two different 404s in the combines. one with the vertical injector pump(early) and one with the horizontal bosch(late)? When i repowered my 4230 and asked they(local dealership) told me the early combine motor wouldnt bolt up but the late would, which is what i had.

We just parted a very early 7700 and it has the older 404 like used in a 4020(except it has spin on oil filter).Earlier this summer we parted a later 7700 and it had the 404 with turbo like a 4430.

Yours should have the most desirable engine (late console 4020), but least desirable in a combine. Probably $3000.
Tires are also expensive.
The rest is scrap metal.
