model A carb repair?

The other day I pulled the carb off my parts tractor thinking that I'd rebuild it and keep it on the shelf incase I ever need it. The nut ans stem were basically rust welded together. I tried heat, penetrating oil but I still managed to break the bottom half inch off the threaded part of the stem. Has anybody tried welding or brazing on a new threaded section?

Clampdaddy. I just got my carb back from Poppin John last
week for stem thread replacement . He's a very good guy to
deal with. I even had him check all the passages with the
correct drill bits. I had cleaned it myself and still had one
passage that was clogged. He done a great job very speedy
process even tho he was in Iowa for a show. Jumped all over it
when he got back on Sunday and my carb was done Monday
the following day. I would give Mike another carb tomorrow if I
need any carb work done !!!!
