i have a 46 B with high compression .045 pistons in it and it turns about 24hp, i was looking to cut the deck of the head .50-.150 not sure if i should, i am looking to make 30-32 hp and wonder how i can go about this any help would be great!

dont want to stroke it and not boring it out any more at this time....

thanks

You are asking for an additional 25% more power. I would expect that this much increase is unlikely to come from something as simple as a little bit more compression. What is your actual cylinder pressure today?

It seems to me that such a big increase is going to require some combination of more displacement, better breathing (more valve area and/or different cam/timing) and more RPM.

Use late model B pistons instead of cutting the head. Then cut the eyebrows back, use USA valves and port match the manifold/head . Better have the cam done also. Should be around 35 hp give or take

I too have a 46 B. Mine is .90 over with high compression aluminum M&W pistons. I have a late styled cyclone on mine and make 28 hp.

You will not see an appreciable difference in power by milling the head, at the compression you"re at, taking 150 off the head would only raise the compression 0.5-0.75 points.

Look for a Heisler head for a styled B or change the pistons.
