Finally feeling better so I posted some photo ads about the scrap yard tractors in my friend's yard. Didn't get near all of them, but got a start.
(quoted from post at 03:19:23 07/17/13) I don"t know about the rarity of the 60 LP...if I ever got a rare tractor I"d prolly just sell it to get some more good ol" As and Bs! But I do think that the scrap man is gonna pay the same per lb regardless of B, 60 gas or 60 LP. So roughin" it out weight wise...that makes the 60 gas about $1065, the LP about $1200 and the B about $720, the be looks like it at least has a starting point; some nice grilles, if I were close I might wave 5 $100 bills at him...but I can hear the crusher working those 60s already they gonna get expensive quick!
(quoted from post at 04:50:19 07/17/13) Where are you getting $355 a ton as a scrap price? That's not what he paid for them. That's what he's willing to let them go for. I guess you think he's going to give them away for what he gave? He's been paying $200 a ton and his asking price is WAY less than what he can get after he crushes them. He has to make money to pay his bills; lights, electric, fuel, labor, insurance, maintenance, repairs, etc. There's a minimal economic lesson there for you.
