rust or a hole in it, vinegar will take rust out let the white vinegar set for a week in it. wash it out with gas, salt and vinegar speeds it up but salt starts eating metal up in the rust pits

wash out in a oil base thing water will re rust it quick, it will look sand blasted inside, other things that do this is molasses, but molasses take 3 weeks mix 7 gallon of water to 1 gallon of molasses and soak 3 weeks on any rusted thing wash in a oil base

The best and closest for me is, Classic Gas Tank, Gifford, IL at 217-568-7234. Tracy is excellent with a reasonable price and a super nice guy.
