Can you remove a clutch pulley with the wheel still on?

Looking at getting the clutch pulley off a late B, but by the looks of the wheel, with the equipment I have, there's no way I could move the wheel. Can the pulley still be removed with the wheel in place? The tire is about five inches from the outside edge of the clutch pully right now.

I did it on a 1948 A. With the wheel all the way out there is room. But it might be easier with the wheel off.

Erik, I've never had to remove a wheel yet when removing the belt pulley. But it is likely you will have to move the wheel out. Mike

I had one that the wheel was about 3 inches too
close, so I let the air out of the tire and using a
cable come-a-long I pulled the tire down enough to
get the pulley past...

We removed one this past winter. The tractor had long axles so we loosened the clamping mechanism and slid the wheel out about 3" on the axle to gain enough clearance.

SIDE NOTE: The owner wanted a "newer" pulley with less groove wear on the belt surface.
The job turned out to be a lot of work because the used pulley he bought had slightly different dimensions than the original pulley and some careful machining was required to gain the clearances required.

To remove the pulley on my G, I jacked the wheel up and blocked it. Then removed the wedges and took the rim off the cast center. You can turn it sideways enough to remove the pulley. This way you don't have to fight thewheel sliding on the axle.
