WEIRD A1827R front wheel weights?? HELP!!!!!

Hey Guys,

I have a question about some front wheel weights that I found today, and I am totally stumped. The front wheel weights that I found look exactly the same "ON THE FRONT SIDE" as the B2016R front wheel weights for a John Deere 50-730, except that they have 6 mounting holes instead of 3. The A1827R weights that I found are also not flat on the rear side like B2016Rs, they are more tappered towards the instead, almost like a cupcake so to speak, not sure how else to explain it. I am thinking they might be for an off center front rim?? or maybe an unstyled tractor?? But I really have no idea. They could be from another company other then deere but with the letters A and R in the casting numbers I dont think that would be, plus they look identical to the B2016R front wheel weights on the Face side. If anyone can help me out with any information it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all and Happy 4th of July!!!

The A1827R is non-reversable where as the B2016R is reversable. Both weigh 100 lbs.

Thanks for the information, what models would they normally fit? I cant seem to find any info in any john deere parts book. I have never seen or heard of these weights before.

Jeff, The MPI shows they fit a 55 combine and the following tractors: A2,AO,AR2,G. Don't have a clue what a A2,AR2 tractor represents. The number is not in the PC674 (A,AR,AO unstyled parts catalog). The number is in the Unstyled G Directive Number 167 ( Unstyled G, No illustration). Also shown in the PC 369 ( Styled G parts catalog page 103.It does not show the weight but does list the # with the attaching hardware. The illustration is for steel spoke wheels.I do not have a styled A, AR, AO PC so I am speculating that is the rest of the application is. Hope this helps.
Missed a good one in Michigan, Hope the sweet corn is turning out good. Lee

Hey Lee!

Thanks for the information, it was a great help. I heard the Michigan show was a good one, I really wanted to go but I am eyeball deep in sweet corn and other produce here on the farm. I'll be chatting with you soon!

Thanks
Jeff

Jeff,
They are for unstyled A,B and G tractors. I am traveling now but will send you the exact info when I get in. I found a pair a few years back, the owner had them mounted backwards on the rear rims of a Ford 9N. There was an article in Two Cylinder describing all the different weights and what tractors they were used.
I saw a set sell on ebay a while back for $1100.

To clarify my earlier post about reversibility of them, the A1827R fits the NON_REVERSABLE rubber tired disk wheels and the B2016R fits the REVERSABLE rubber tired disk wheels.

A1827R weights fit models A, B, D, G, and H.
B2016R weights fit models A, B, G, 50, 60, 70, 80, 520-30, 620-30, 720-30, 820-30.

Once I get home I will let you guys know. Seems to me about three years ago or so...
Sitting in traffic in Virginia right now....I95 construction, another 6 hours to go

Ok guys...
Two Cylinder
March-April 2006
Commentary Section Page #35
They list them as:

Front Wheel Weights for Non-Reversible Rubber Tired Disk Type Wheels -A1827R, 100 lbs.

If you guys want, I can scan and post here as well..I think... with giving credit to Two Cylinder
