I bought a complete fuel gauge & sending unit for my 630, I have the sending unit in the tank, and I have the gauge ready to put into the dash, but I see there are 3 terminals on the new sending unit, Ive never wired one of these before, I know one wire has to go to the ignition switch, but which terminal on the switch does it go to, also, I know one of the terminals on the sending unit should be a ground, but what about the 3rd terminal? Also what gauge or type of electrical wire should I use for this? Thanks everybody and happy 4th!

I just installed a fuel gauge and sender from evergreen restoration -using his wiring diagram-
looking at the gauge from the front - the bolt behind F is the ground, the bolt behind E is the ignition -the bolt in the middle goes to the sender -there has to be a ground installed from the flange of the sender to the ground bolt behind the F and then run the wire to ground
I have contacted Jerry because it is not working correctly
Just installed the gauge and sender
- when pushing the fuel gauge button with the tractor off, the gauge goes to the correct level -that appears to be working correctly
- when tractor is started , the gauge does not register unless I press the fuel gauge button
- the wire from the ignition bolt on the gauge goes to the push button -
- my 720 diesel repair manual has a terrible wiring diagram –what do I need to wire different so that the gauge registers when tractor is running?
-do I need to wire the push button different?
