Tx Jim / Tim S... 2510 fuel in he crankcase

My 1966 2510D ser# 6630 (bought new) has been leaking fuel into the crankcase. The transfer pump is OK. The Roosa Master was rebuilt by the local dealer several years ago and works excellent, but now it's leaking fuel into the crankcase and the dealership is gone. Probably a problem with a seal. I've been keeping this tractor running since I was 14. I'm 61 now and need advice on what to look for and any tips on how to go about stopping this leak... getting tired of changing oil every 15 hours. I put about 50 hours on it each year keeping the paths up, bush-hogging and general farmstead maintenance. It has had a 47 loader on it since '67.

If engine runs without missing then the only 2 places diesel can get in crankcase is lift pump or inj pump shaft seals. Lift pump is the easier of the 2 to check.

I have taken the lift pump off and it checked OK. The engine runs like new. I think it's the shaft seals. I can remove the injector pump... no problem. What should I look for?

If you don't already know you need to tie the throttle arm back so as not to drop the governor weights.
Just replace the seals being very careful reinstalling the pump. It's very easy to roll or pinch the seal.
While the pump is off you might run your finger in the pilot tube to check for wear. If it's worn the pump will have to be disassembled.
