Several years ago new rollguards and tops were showing up at a sale in MS. The guy claimed they were taken off new 4020s in Canada by the government and replaced by cages for highway mowing. They had been stored for all those years.
The lower plates were thinner than Deeres and the bolts were only 5/8. These wouldn't hold up in a roll over.
I would say the Saginaw and McGreww are not like those. Legtimate businesses cannot afford the liability of cheap roll guards.
Call salvage yards to find a used one which will need painting or they might also deal in those aftermarket ones.

I've tried the salvage yards and no luck yet,but I am wondering how well Saginaw or mcgrews look just like an original. If anyone has one I'd like to know how they like the fit and finish. I want the tractor original as I can keep it but for 800 some bucks for the roll bar and 1700 for the canopy from John Deere that's crazy. But then again if I'm going to dump around 1500 for a copy I want to be sure I'm going to be satisfied.

The reproduction canopys are very close and cost around $700.The factory ones are out there as I have had many but just sold last one.The top out of a factory Stolper cab w/o air is identicle but needs small fan hole filled in and can be purchased cheaper.I had a new old stock canopy and it brought $1000.I like the look and coolness just not the extra noise.
