Impellor conditioner vs roller conditioner?

Impellor conditioner vs roller conditioner? Which is better and why? I would like to hear different opinins and why. I mainly mow grasses with a little alfelfa. Thanks

Tim, I have a John Deere 946 with impellers. I have used it mostly in alfalfa with some grass. I like it. You can set it to do absolutely nothing to alfalfa or you can set it to "meal" it, or anything in between. It works great in grass hay, too. It also is practically plug-free. The dealer told me at the time I bought it that almost nobody was buying a new mower/conditioner with rolls if they ever tried both. Mike
