I got a 2020 JD and I'm having proublems with the lift chattering when it raises up and it sounds like it has air in the system. I had a leak on the main shaft on the pump and had it all rebuilt thinking that was part of the proublem. It didn't Change it any. I drained all the fluid changed the filter took the intake screen out and cleaned it ( it was very dirty and thought it might be the proublem ) still no change. I've got JD Hy Guard in it. I've noticed that when raising the lift that the small curved hose on top of the oil cooler is trying to suck together a little while raising ( it's a new hose from Deere ) the lift making me think something isn't getting enough fluid. Anyone have any ideas where to start checking or no what might be causing this? The lift will work or pick up what ever it needs too no proublem just jerks! Thanks for any help you can give me!!

I had the same problems as you are having. I removed the entire rockshaft unit and rebuilt it with all new O-rings and relief parts. Works like new. Remove the rear hydraulic oil fill cap and see if it sprays hydraulic fluid inside, that will give you the answer!

As Todd stated leaking RS valves have a history of causing hyd problems on utility tractors. With 3pt raised,engine running look inside hyd filler hole for spraying oil. SC's if so equipped or power steering valves are other sources for internal high pressure leaks. Does tractor have a FEL with an ind control valve> Does tractor have hyd ind pto or hi-lo?

RS= rockshaft valvw that controls 3pt(three point hitch) FEL =frt end loader

hyd=hydraulics

hi-lo=hyd hi-lo aka 2 speed

Not sure on what all of your abbreviations mean but no
hydrolic hook ups or control valve no hydrolic PTO ether

I removed the plug and had a look with it running and lift raised. Nothing no oil spraying anywhere. It just had started this not too long ago but we thought it was due to the seal on the pump leaking and maybe low fluid since the leak was so bad. But got all of that fixed. It just acts like pump just ant getting enough oil to it.
