I bought a dtlx 67 for my john deere b that was rebuilt. when I got it I looked inside the throttal blad or plate to look at the throat. It looked like this carb had been setting in water for a long time cause it was rust pitted bad and when you close the throttal blad there is like a sixteenth inch gape under it. I put it on and you cant get it to idle right. Ive tried adjusting it and it just wont idle right. I showed the guy I bought it from and he said that wouldn't hurt nothing. I told him I don't think it would ever idle right with that like that. I was just wondering if im right about that?

Those B carbs are slobbery anyway...the butterfly clearance will not hurt the power up...I can"t recall if the 67 is the all fuel...if it is it has the bypass and they are really slobbery....those the butterfly will not shut down, the gas models unless the pin has been bent you should have the safety shut down feature...on those the idle ports have to be clean..secret passages and all....it still should idle down if the other is clean and you should be able to install a new butterfly and make it block off...I always took a brake hone and lightly clean up the bore...most of these tractors will by nature foul out #2 if you run on limited basis....

You should get your money back. That carburetor is not "rebuilt" at all. As far as B carburetors being "slobbery", I don't agree with that, either. If they are "slobbery" it's probably because some slob "rebuilt" it. They work fine when done correctly. Mike

Get your money back. It will never idle and he probably allready put in a new blade to even get it where it is now. There are good ones out there, you don't need this headache. False representation.

Go to Roberts carb service. Working on one myself they have all the parts. How to clean the secret passages an the stuff to do it with. Would try to get my money back. I rebuilt mine with one of the premium kits an mine would run but not idle very low. So gonna redo it the right way. Good luck
