Looking at selling 520JD with PS, three point hitch, tin fair, no oil leaks , new tires on front , good tread on rear with a few weather cracks , rebuilt carb and runs good. Would appreciate some help with value.

Here in Upstate, NY most folks it seems would be asking $4500-$5000 for that...most if they are really interested in selling are prolly gonna accept $2700-$3200...bout the same as your Stage 1 SH should bring, but prolly a lil more for the "green paint tax!" lol

Main area of concern on these units...is transmission pulled out, is power steering trashed out...rings and carb the cheaper fixes unless exhaust channeling has occurred....realistically if all this hasn't been addressed and if rubber not great they're worth $1000-1500. A tip off is if seat ratted out...stay away from them as previous owner didn't want to spend $100 even on his behind. A good one is probably $4500-$5500 and you'd be money ahead to buy one already restored.

I sold a 520 at John Deere Fall Fest in 2012. No 3pt or fenders, single hydrolics, narrow front, rebuilt water pump, new manifolds, new 3 rib front tires, matched rears with 75% tread no weather checking. New grill screens converted to 12v and power steering was rebuilt 5 yrs before I got it. No leaks anywhere, Started easy and ran great. It was repainted at some point in it's life. I got $3750 for it.
