Unstyled B Fan

I had the fan slide off of the fan shaft of my B and put a hole in my radiator shortly after restoring the tractor. I have the fan shaft apart, but I am stumped on how to fix it, and my parts and service manuals are not very helpful. It looks like the fan has some sort of rubber or cork packing inside of it that would be pressed onto the brass shaft. It looks like this would be sold as one assembly, but I"m not having any luck on finding anything. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a way to fix this fan shaft?

On Ebay under B fanshaft, there are a couple listed. I'd get rid of those rubber mounted fans. I think I have one i've changed if you're set on using that style fan.

Like you, I like to keep the original type of fan on them. This is one on my 34 A where I drilled out the rivets, took it apart and found the rubber in pretty good condition. On a lot of them the rubber is too far gone. On this one, I re-positioned the rubber so the worn places were not a problem and reassembled. I did apply contact glue when reassembling it to help the metal cone hold on to the rubber. Make sure you check the balance before re-installing. That was 5 years ago and so far it has worked like new. I also have one on a 35 B that I gave a similar treatment to 10 years ago with no problems since.
If yours is too far gone you might try to find a better one. I see them on Ebay occasionally or try your favorite salvage yards.
