I have a 38 G that is leaking oil in the clutch housing. Not to good for the clutch pads. anyone know where this leak may be coming from. There is no cork seal or any other seal shown in the parts book.

There"s too much oil in the 1st reduction gear housing.

It"s either Engine Oil..from the rh main brg..

Hydraullic oil from the power trol thats leaking
to the transmission..

OR there"s water in the trans or some how
the trans is OVER. full..

Possible the bushing on the bully is shot
( If there"s a lot of play in the pulley)
Check & grease bearing too..

the trans does not have any thing to do with the frist rad cover it is oiled by engine oil if it has run many years on non detergent oil the return may be pluged or the engine may have a lot of blow by

If its allowed to run with the pulley stopped for any longer than is absolutely necessary, as i see nearly every one of them are at shows, it will do this also. The belt pulley (clutch) must be engaged! The oil slinger cant work when its stopped, & you're destroying the clutch & crankshaft. Also if a disc breaks & wedges itself, your tractor takes off & the only remedy is to kill the engine.

There should be a drain ,small in the shroud behind the clutch pulley. Also the hole should be on bottom in case somebody been there before.
