Say hotflashjr do u know where i can get motor parts for my 40 l. I would like to rebuild the motor on it. I checked if the john deere shop and they tryed but told me that they can not get any parts for it.Thay did give me a parts list and part numbers.

Register with jd parts and you'll be able to see what you can get since your dealer doesn't seem to get it. Most parts are available from NAPA, Deere, this site, Lavoy at jdcrawlers, Sharps, ebay,etc. Not hard to find at all.

You can try a few different places for pistons, cranks, etc. Ridenours sell used parts as well as new as well as Rusty Acres Ranch. JD will have all the gaskets and seals. I have found their quality to be better than after market stuff espeically on the head gasket. Keep an eye on ebay for rings. If you know what size you need I may have an extra NOS set.
