70 diesel locking up

Just had a 70 diesel dropped off to get looked at the complaint is that after the tractor is running for about 15-20 minutes it starts to die down and the lock up! it has a taper lock flywheel and it has zero end play do you think it is lack of end play causing this? The engine will spin free after it cools down. more info the engine was overhauled a few years ago .090 over new thrust bearings were replaced as well.looking for a good place to start i am thinking this taper lock is the smoking gun???? your thoughts please

Diesel Dude.. Remove the flywheel and starting putting shims behind the thrust cover until you get .008 end play. I had one do that before and found out it spun a rod bearing. That"s an expensive repair.

Have just been into a 720 diesel that lost the center main bearing oil line. Same behavior. The more you try to run the engine, the quicker it will lock up if that is the cause. Apparently this is a common occurrence with these engines. Evidence with this tractor is that this is the second center main oil line to be broken loose in it. Also have a 70 with the same affliction.
