congratulations to JDGnut for his transfer fuel pump psi guess. The actual reading was 0, from now on I will be checking this first! I proceeded to disassemble the pump and found the check ball worn off to one side of the relief piston. The piston is also loose in the bore. Does anyone know why they built the relief with a moving piston combined with a steel ball filling the hole in the center. It appears fuel would push the piston down increasing the spring pressure, than push the ball off its seat and bypass fuel. So why not just run a stronger spring? One more question, can I adjust my injector rack travel above 11 to get more fuel and where would you recommend that adjustment be made. With the stop screw backed all the way out my setting is 11.
thanks again for all the help
