Nice Rig!!! You must have been standing on top of the silo to get those shots!! Have not seen any corn ground worked here yet in northeastern Ohio

I was up on the road bank, Clouse Lake Dam borders our farm. when we were young that field was too wet to farm, just before it became illegal to drain fields like that we system tiled it, in 1980..They would throw you in Jail to drain it today...

I like your rig!!! Quite classic!! It's the last of the semi-simple ones. Mechanically controlled engine and transmission on the tractor with a good old fashioned finger pickup planter.

I'm loving the dust! We havent seen that here in west TN in a WHILE! We have been sneaking in a few plots between rain showers. We mudded one in Wednesday but it was really to wet. We are normally done planting corn by now, but this year we are only about half way there....

I'm looking at the silver lining in the cloud; this late planted corn means that perhaps I'll actually get to attend Rantoul this year to see the 60 crawler! I've never been able to attend the Rantoul exposition before because harvest is usually going on in TN during the last week of August. I'd love to take the 45 combine but I'm thinking it's just way too much trouble....

I see those squiggly rows :) (actually better than I can do freehanded) Tell the brothers they need to try out this new fenangled RTK on that 4960. They can camp out in the cab and read a book while the tractor drives a painfully straight row :)

Yeah... my dad bought a Buckeye ditcher in 1950 and ditched farms in 5 counties for 30 some years until the Swamp Buster bill put us out of business in the 80's. I nicknamed it "The Dinosaur." Some man came to the house in the early 90's and wanted it to tile his farm on the sly. Dad sold him the ditcher, the road tractor and Rogers trailer and laughed all the way to the bank. We never heard from him again.

Painfully green. Have 32 inches of ice on the lake out front and one of the two popple species actualy has catkins but otherwise no real fauna starting spring. Still have snow banks...sw mn got a foot of fresh I think yesterday or today.
And yeah those are unbelieveably straight lines....cool hand luke.
Fellow who worked on my clutch has till may 15 to get corn in ground or insurance takes over. It will be close.

Tim 10/11in snow and 30 deg temperatures have stopped everything in north central Ia and up to Minn.Probably less than 1% planted and its chances arent too good .We will need at least a week of drying weather but when we get going its hard to beleive how fast it goes.24 row planters have became a lot more common than when we got one 8 years ago.We did need moisture so no ones complaining YET!
