My ‘68’ 2020 diesel has what looks to be a piece of rubber material connected to the radiator cap. It appears it was made that way and isn’t some backyard fix. My guess is that it is meant to divert rainwater from going down on the engine, since it pretty well covers the hole in the hood that the filler neck goes through. He cover seems to be riveted to the cap.
I looked at the JD and Napa site since I have to replace the cap. The Napa site shows a picture of a standard radiator cap. The JD sites drawing isn’t detailed enough to tell if that cover is on it. Anyone know if these covers come with the replacement cap, or are mine an oddity? I’d like to keep it as it is if possible.
