My 70 water pump is leaking I have found a new pump and gasket but what about the solid pipe I assume there are orings at each end and I will have to unbolt the connector at the cyl head and need gasket are these still available at deere what is the best way to remove the pump and pipe. Thanks

All of the parts are available from Deere.

F 1053 R = Gasket, water pump housing

F 1056 R = O-ring, lower water pipe

F 519 R = Gasket, cylinder head water inlet (gas)

F 1470 R = Gasket, cylinder head water inlet (all fuel & LP)

Changed the water pump on "15" our 53 Model 70 a couple of months ago.

Removed the cylinder head water inlet first.

Removed the lower water pipe.

Be sure to check you water pipe for pin-hole leaks and excessive rust.

Hope this helps.

So, what's the solution to a shot water pipe?
I've made up a new piece from iron pipe, with 1 & 7/8" OD, same as the one that came out. New o-ring in place in the pump measures 1 & 3/4" ID. Doesn't want to go in. Is it just I need a bigger hammer, or does the pipe need to be smaller? (I'm not sure the piece that came out was original.)
