A guy called me to overhaul his 4020, that for some reason pushed a pushrod through the rocker arm cover. Friend of his took cover off and couldn't get the lifter to go down and the pushrod is straight and still looks good. He didn't say what the rocker arm looked like though. Will try and get the tractor hauled to my place in a couple weeks. Supposedly the tractor still runs just the front cylinder is missing because of the leftout pushrod/stuck lifter. chris

The 4020 I just posted about had the #1 intake push rod broken and #1 exhaust push rod bent and off the rocker - we think too much ether in a very cold engine -#1 cylinder is closest to the air intake(where he was blowing in the ether- he was not using the ether system installed on tractor) - I am not sure why the push rods would come through the cover??

saw this once, right after it happened. the fella was over reving going down a hill with a load. that was the only damage. him being the tightwad he was, he put straighted the push rod with a hammer, brazed the hole shut in the cover and went back to work......
