anybody know the part number for the fan belt on a john deere 60 without power steering? i think they gave us the wrong one at the dealer. either that or we put it back together wrong, but i dont think so

Don't have the number in front of me , BUT, take the old one in (if you can) and any parts store should be able to provide one. HTH

Ben, it will depend on the size of your generator pulley. The earlier ones with the cast iron (large) pulley take a different belt than the later tin (small) pulley. The later belt is narrower as well. Mike

i may have a newer generator on an older 60 then. i had a homemade bracket going from the bracket that holds up the fanshaft to the genertor, so the old belt nor the new belt fit, both too small, now that i put on the proper bracket. does that make sense?

Mark-Ia said it correctly. It's a generator and water pump belt. The fan is direct driven from the fan shaft through a gear arrangement in the governor housing.

Also the Parts Catalog calls it out correctly as generator and water pump belt.

thanks for clearing that up for me ron. i was up all nite last night thinking about what the proper name of that belt is.
