John Deere Question

I have seen an aftermarket dipstick that installs where the oil level petcock was.
Someone could of made aftermarket spin out rims too,but I've never seen any on those tractors.

But nothing from JD.

Thank you so much. My husband talked to a guy that told him he thought that it came from the factory with it. We thought that it could have been a little far fetched.

I have a dipstick for an JD A or a JD 60. Haven't put it in yet, but they work fairly well.
Ran unto it at a swap meet.

I heard rumors many years ago that Deere came up with the spinout wheel design but thought it wasn't strong enough for them....sold the idea to Allis Chalmers, I heard. At least A C was the first one I ever saw with that feature.

Who knows?

I have a 1945 B with a dip stick where the oil petcock goes,I know it is a aftermarket thing but seems to work alright. As for spinout rims, never seen such an animal on a JD.

Power adjust rear wheels were an option on JD 2 cylinders on the 20/30 series.

The tractor came with neither one but as several mentioned you could buy the dipsticks in the aftermarket. As for the spinout rims, there is a way you could put those on an A. Massey-Harris, Oliver and possibly others used a 9-bolt cast spinout wheel which will bolt directly on a 9-bolt A hub that would have had a pressed steel wheel on it originally. Mike
