Drained and cleaned out the gas tank. Replaced the direct fuel line from tank to carb that did not have a shutoff with a new sediment bowl so I shouldn"t have to worry about motor getting flooded with gas. Checked the plugs, they look good, not like someone just put in new ones, but like plugs that are in a motor that ran right. Gas tank and lines were surprisingly clean.
Finally, with the help of a buddy with some better tools, got the starter out. Hopefully I"ll get the starter rebuilt in the next couple of weeks so I can see if this thing is going to run. Here is a pic of my shadetree mechanic-ing. If I don"t get it going before it gets hot, I"m going to have to drag her under a tree.
