how does anyone get rid of the calcium chloride that they take out of the tires on tractors, we have 3, 55 gallon drums full of it sitting around here that we don"t know what to do with, will tire dealers take it, or buy it, or charge to get rid of it?

any insight appreciated

thanks

You might call around, some cities have 'Hazardous Materisls' day, they accept anything at a drive-thru site. Then they dispose of it.

It makes excellent weed killer, spray it on gravel driveway or any place you don't want grass or weeds.

It will rust any metal that comes in contact with it.

Nebraska uses and the county uses Calcium Bi-Chlorinate
not Calcium Chloride ....Work use Calcium Bi-Chlorinate for
dust suppression.

Some dust control applicators use calcium chloride here in Iowa. Local farm tire shop pumps it out and takes it for me but they won't give you anything for it.

In Iowa we use calcium chloride for dust control. I buy it at the feed mill and put it on the road myself. Our local Firestone store buyers the same stuff and makes the brine to use in tractor tires.

Around here the dealer who changes tires will take it if you give it to him then he will resell it to someone who needs it for $1 a gallon. Is it in metal or plastic he might not take it if rust flakes in it.
