ive tried to start it but no go. Ive had the mag gone over, and it produces a good spark out of new wires through new plugs. The top hole in the mag to the flywheel side. I had a new kit put into the carb, and got online to find the carb settings. No go. I was just wondering if there were any local JD mechanics around the Tulsa area whio might come out and look at it.
I posted such in Tulsa Craigsalist in Farm and garden this week, and will do it weekly for a mechanic. No go there either.

Open the petcock on the bottom of the bowl and see if you have a stedy stream of gas draining out.You might have a stopped up gas line.I had my sediment bowl inlet stopped up at the tank with a small peice of gasket that came off the gas cap.I had to remove the sedimant bowl and cleant it out.It was stoped up solid.

Farmallb ... I assume its your JD Bthat your working on? Like others said make SURE its got a good flow of gas. Second should be FIRE. You said its got that. Carb settings should be IDLE (flywheel side) 1 to 1-1/2 turns out. LOAD needle should be around 1/2 turn to 1-1/2 turn out. Most will start IF carb is clean with the load needle seated. As the idle passage provides the gas for starting. My 44 A will start with LOAD needle seated DLTX 53 carb. Are the plugs getting wet? If so, your using too much choke. Flooding the engine. Ummm, is the timing correct? Roll engine over to TDC. STOP BEFORE the may snaps!!! Where's the #1 piston? If still nothing try pulling it. Good luck.

When you had the mag off did you make sure it was timed correctly when you put it back on? If its not timed right it wont start. If you need help timing it you can email or call me I can help you or some others on here will be able to explain the process.

If you do get a nice steady stream from your fuel tank make certain it is indeed gas coming out of it and not the crap that settles out of this new gas. When this new stuff sits for a year or two it seems the ethanol must settle out to the bottom? I just drained about 4 gallons of B.S. from a couple saddle tanks I hadn't used in a couple years. Truck wouldn't lite but was getting juice and spark... Turned out the juice was basically water with a slight alcohol smell. Once I drained that crap out of the bottom of the tanks... until real gas came out... it was fine.

Its my 39 A.
I recoated the tank, but I havnt put it on. I was pouring gas into the opening at the top of the carb.
Ive had it belted to another tractor.
I havnt switched the wires, but will try that.
I had the mag gone through by a mag man. Owner of a local NAPA store. He also did the carb. Old er guy.
I will try it again and open the bottom drain
