plows- john deere

If your talking about JD's F145H or A series,Semi-mount; The 4,5,6 bottom can be reduced by one bottom, by just unbolting back bottom, moving tail wheel up & shorting lift & steering rods.... you can'nt make a 5 into a 3 , or a 6 into a 4 ...unless you torch it ; but it never pull correct...

It can be done but not without a lot of work. You would need to torch the main frame member and also the parallel front beam along with shortening the steering arms and the lift link. Also you will need to reposition the cylinder mounting brackets. Whenever you weld or torch a piece of equipment you reduce the resale value. That being said I would think a better way to attack the problem is to buy one the size that you want and to sell the one that you have. John Deere made a lot of these plows and they are readily available on the used market and are very reasonable. Hope this helps, Tom

Just sell it & buy a Case or Oliver plow. With either of those you can pull one extra bottom AND shift up a gear. JD plows are junk- far harder pulling.
