37A with gas in oil

I forgot to turn off the the gas on my 37A and found my gas tank empty. The crankcase oil was thinned out and when I checked the oil level it was high, so I drained the crankcase and replaced the oil filter. Is their anywhere else that I need to look for gas or drain to be sure I don't have problems from this oops?

The first reduction gear cover if it got up high enough. But on a tractor that old there is not a drain unless someone (like me)added one later in life.

you might want to install a small ball valve in the gas line I had the same problem I just don't trust those bowl shut offs. This way you can leave the gas turn on and just turn off the ball valve.

Fiddlertx4, no maybe about it. It's a universal condition among two lungers that the carb needle won't hold a tank of gas from going on into the engine overnight, AND that the rings aren't any more gastight than they are watertight, oiltight or even airtight, so of course the tank full of gasoline winds up in the crankcase.

To my knowledge all two lunger owners have done this at least once but they tend to not do it very often. Turning off the supply valve is the cheap fix most people choose. I go one further, I open the valve, drain all of the gas, take off the sediment bowl, open up the drain on the carb for a couple of days, and then put it all back together so that I don't have any gum set up anywhere next time I want to use it. No matter how long it sits, which might be years.
