In my old age I must be going blind. I have been looking in my owners manual and cannot find anywhere that it says how much oil goes in the crankcase. I'm going to do a filter change and it does say to add one quart to the proper quantity of oil for the change. But what is the proper quantity?

Short of going and getting my MANUAL, install the filter, leave open the check plug and when oil runs out, shut it and add 1 more quart. PS: I believe 8!

I think its 3 gal.Fill it up until it runs out the petcock. Start it up and let it run for a couple minutes.Shut it off and recheck the oil level. You will probaly will have to add a little for filling up the oil filter.
