4020 PS PTO brake pics

I was able to convince the family member that writes the checks to repair the PTO - the 56 year old brother helping me has no decision making privileges and the 76 year old mother still owns the tractor - quite the operation --anyway --
The pto brake has no lining left -the locking pin is still perfect and the release spring looks good, but I will replace it -It is too bad that the gear has to be replaced, but that is all that Deere stocks -I suppose they improved the design??
I convinced the check writer that the clutch discs look okay, and the separator plates are flat, but should be replaced now - the clutch discs measure .112" down to .107" - new spec in book is 112 to .188
the separator plates are not shiny -black in colour and some etching -the tractor has not really been used for 8 years, condensation or burnish? I can get more pics --
What do you guys think about the discs and plates?-I won"t be any closer to replace them --

I think that the money "saved" on parts won"t cover the labour to go back in and do it right.I know I would feel a lot better with it going out the door done well.

Hy-capacity offers a powershift overhaul kit that includes all disks and plates for c1, c2, and pto clutches. Cost a little over $500 but is way cheaper than Deere. I would replace them if the tractor is going to be used much. You can't open it up again for the cost of the parts.

Ken, are the disc and plates the clutch plates in the 4th picture? That is a picture of the PTO clutch assembly correct? Do you have a picture of the PTO brake that shows the locking pin and it"s location on the PTO brake?

Mine is apart right. Couldn"t do it myself. A few pictures would really help me out for the PTO parts. Thanks for the pictures so far!
